Puccini: opera arias - EDIT

I did some more research. I only knew about 1 CD version of this album, the one below. But there is another one, a 2 CD version. The first CD has 17 tracks and the second CD comes as bonus. It only has one track, Vissi D'arte. I found it on the Japanese Amazon. It says there it was released in 2004 and it's an import from USA.
Also on Japanese Amazon there is a EMI Japan version of the same CD (use Google translate), released an year after, in 2005. And it has 18 tracks, Vissi D'Arte being the last one. In conclusion, there's nothing new besides the cover. But it's very good for those who didn't buy it back then.
It's a previous CD with a new cover and one more song added, Vissi D'arte from Tosca. It was first released in 2006 named Puccini. More or less the same tracks can be found on a third CD, My Puccini, the one released in 2008.

And if I got the chance to write about this, there are two videos that illustrate this album. I've seen them before, but it's nice to look back.
The first one is the recording session for Sola, perduta, abbandonata in 2005

The second one was produced also in 2005. it's an interview about the arias introduced on the CD, some images from the recording sessions and Un Bel Di video.

I wonder why they keep re-releasing this with different covers within such a short time span. I have the first release (which I love) but wouldn't buy the others unless they offered new recordings.

  2. I have the first release with 2 CDs (Vissi d'Arte as bonus), released in France in 2004. And Roberto sings (a little) in "Madama Butterfly" and in "Turandot". Perhaps a new CD will be purchased by people who do not have the old one...
