UPDATE

Half happy, half sad.

I'm just curious. Were you successful in buying tickets for Tosca at ROH? I heard so many people commenting. Most of them said the moment they got in there was nothing left in the orchestra stalls, circle stalls and all the way up to the amphitheatre.
.
Any happy story?
.
Round one ended. There's round two coming soon, on April 5.
.
This is my first poll so I hope it works well. Please vote only once and keep in mind that it's anonymous.

  1. Irina, I have got one of the remainig cheap tickets, it´s a real poor seat. The "choice" was not difficult. So I`ll try again on April 5. My second chance. I was locked in since 6 AM and have booked 3 hours later without any queue. I was realy shocked by the few free seats this morning. Good luck!

I am devastated. I am trying to pull in every contact I ever had. I have even written to Tony Hall. I also used to know Sir Nicholas Hytner's sister, and wish I still did as he is on the Board at the ROH.

  3. As a general report, "few seats". Everybody said that. I wonder if things change for April 5.
@Tracey - sorry :( If only I could do something..

  4. I got really poor restricted view seats for both performances. It would be a good idea to regularly visit the opera house site as returns do turn up.

I've overcome my cynicism somewhat and am really looking forward to Tosca. I've been following Angela's career since those early Zerlina's, Nina's, Liu, Michaela etc and was at that very first Traviata and just hope there will be more new roles and performances at the ROH.

If someone is really desperate nearer the time I would surrender ono of the tickets, but they are really restricetd view in the Upper Slips.

  7. Happy story is that I got a ticket. Sad story is that it's all the way up in the upper slips. If round one was so tough,I can't imagine what round two is going to be like. At least I hope the acoustics is good up there!

  9. @Carole - it's the general sale for Summer season at ROH. For all those who are not "friends". And this time, also for all the "friends" who didn't get a ticket on March 9.
