O2 concert, promoted on Thames Clippers

.
Big event today at O2 Arena in London. Angela Gheorghiu & Placido Domingo concert is a must see. Contrary to what many press articles that I read stated, they have been singing together in concerts and operas for more than 15 years. There's the entire Prague 1994 concert uploaded on YouTube as well as some other videos from operas spread in the cyber world.
.
To all those attending, enjoy!

  2. Angela sang:

"Song to the Moon" from Rusalka
    Habanera from Carmen
Ebben si Lontano from La Wally
I could have dance all night from My Fair Lady
    and in duet with Placido:
    The Love Duet from Otello
    The Amelia and Boccanegra duet
    Tonight from West Side Story
    El Gatto Montes

I could not get a programme but also a Romanian song "La Souceris" (???)

Sadly I did not stay for the encores as I had a long journey home.

Domingo was in great form. Le Cid, Siegmund, and Otello in the first half + Gerard from Andrea Chenier.

Maybe we could still see that Otello on stage again with Angela.

Angela was on superb form, vividly characterised and engaged. No scores of course. Highlight for me was the Otello duet with Domingo beautifully choreographed.

I was so glad to hear her in roles I have never heard her sing on stage. Long to see her as Desdemona and Carmen.

  3. No news from this concert ?
Another thing : have you seen that the website of Angela is unavailable ? What do you think of this ?
Kindest regards to you, dear Irina !

  4. @Annie - the website is working. It might have been a bug or something. I attended the concert. More comments soon.

@VJ - you should have stayed. You missed some of the best songs. Especially "Copacul" (The Tree). Angela has never sung it before. It's a Romanian song orchestrated for her. Beautiful!
