Interview on TVR 2, March 1

The first day of Spring brings a new interview on the Romanian tv station TVR 2 at "Confesiuni". Too bad it's a 5pm (GMT+2) when most of the people are at work. There are two encores, at extreme hours: 4:25 am and 10:50 am on the next day.

Try watching it online on DolceTV. Click on TV on the upper bar then scroll down the list on the left until you find TVR2. Not all the broadcasts are available online. But you might be lucky.

Question: how fast do 4'24'' pass?
Answer: way faster than usual, given the circumstances.
Circumstances: Angela was guest at Holograf's concert last night in Bucharest, at Sala Polivalenta. They performed together "Nu mai e timp". The audience burst into applauses when she came onstage and they were even louder at the end of the song.

First reaction in the press: Adevarul
Photos below: from the concert and the interviews for the press afterwords.

Part 1 is here. According to the feedback I got, the subtitles are working. For those who wrote asking how come YouTube subtitled a video, it's not them, it's me. Translation & upload by yours truly.

Enjoy part 2! There are two more to come.

Angela Gheorghiu in conversation with Marius Constantinescu @TVR1 - part 1, in English

Recorded in November 2011 and broadcasted in January 2012 on TVR 1, this interview is worth watching because of its warmth. It's a friendly conversation that goes beyond the regular interviews. It's not about the questions themselves (as we might have heard them before) but how they are asked.

You would have expected a long reading, wouldn't you? Well, for this interview I moved on to the next level - SUBTITLES. Watch + listen + read = whole picture :)

Start the video and CC will show up, meaning the subtitles are on.

YouTube has another trick. It automatically translates the English subtitles into different other languages. Like this: left click on CC - Translate captions - choose your preferred language - ta-daaam, French, Spanish, whatever you want. Even if the translation is not perfect, you'll get the idea.
If the font is too small/big: left click on CC - Settings - +/-

Enjoy the interview. This is Part 1. Three more to follow.

Tosca screenings in Brazil, February 25, 26 and 28

.
3 days of screenings of Tosca (the 2011 Royal Opera House production starring Angela Gheorghiu, Jonas Kaufmann and Bryn Terfel) in different cities in Brazil. What a nice surprise! All the details on the website of Cinemark, (including the trailer and many photos). And the gentleman below is very persuasive :)

More screenings of Tosca in February also in Spain, Israel and US. Everything you need to know on ROH Cinema website.

When will you sing in Vienna again?

"Next season. Adriana Lecouvreur". The great audience was a reason for the coming back. But Viennese coffee&cookies counted a lot too.

More in the interview in Kurier.at, preceding Angela's appearance at the Opera Ball on February 16.

Was queueing at ROH successful?

8 hours after the opening of the general booking, the queue on website of Royal Opera House was still 1935 people long :). Nothing left for those two La Boheme, as there were very few seats from the beginning, this morning. But hope dies last. And don't forget about the returns.

I know at least 7 happy people. How about the rest of you?

REMINDER: Spring general booking at ROH, February 7 (La Boheme)

The long waited (for some) Spring general booking at Royal Opera House is tomorrow, February 7, starting 10am (UK time = GMT). For those who want to attend those two (or at least one) La Boheme on June 19 and June 23, this is your moment.

Cast:
Mimì - Angela Gheorghiu
Rodolfo - Roberto Alagna
Musetta - Nuccia Focile
Marcello - George Petean
Colline - Yuri Vorobiev
Schaunard - Thomas Oliemans
Benoît - Jeremy White
Alcindoro - Donald Maxwell

Conductor - Maurizio Benini
Director - John Copley

The other operas included in the Spring booking are: Miss Fortune, Rigoletto, La Fille du régiment and Falstaff. Or if you like ballet: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, New Scarlett/Polyphonia/New McGregor and La Fille mal gardée.

When buying the ticket for La Boheme consider that Les Troyens premiers on June 25. This too should be a not to be missed performance if you check out the cast. But Les Troyens is part of Summer booking (April 10)

Dear all, happy queuing. It's a silent, nerve racking fight. But it's soooo part of attending a performance at ROH.  Let me know what you got!

Entrada en el paraiso

Teatro Colon announced the concert on April 11 on their website. The tickets don't seem to be on sale yet.

In the meantime you can check out the interactive seat plan which shows the view to and from the stage from any seat category in the venue. As fun fact, the top floor of the theatre (in light blue) is called "Paraiso" (Paradise). I wonder why...
